Samsung Galaxy A9 launch highlights: Four camera smartphone available in November

Samsung is set to launch the world’s first smartphone with four rear cameras today. At an event in Malaysia scheduled to start at 2.30PM IST, the Korean giant will introduce the future of smartphones, one where more cameras is merrier.

It suddenly seems that smartphone makers are fighting for the crown of who has the maximum number of cameras on their mobile devices. In all started with the launch of Huawei P20 Pro in March, which featured three cameras on the back and four in total. LG recently added one more camera to the mix with the launch of V40 ThinQ, which has three cameras on the back and two at the front for a total of five cameras. Samsung officially joined the camera race with the launch of Galaxy A7 last month, which features three cameras on the back.

Samsung is calling the event as ‘4x fun’ and ahead of the event, the details related to the camera setup have already leaked online. The four cameras will do four different functions with the primary camera using a 24-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The secondary sensor with be a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom. The third camera will be an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera with 120-degree field of view while the fourth camera will be a 5-megapixel depth sensor.
